Always wanted to understand the magic behind the macaron and learn to make this French fancy at home? We’ll be showing you exactly how in this afternoon masterclass at the bakery. You’ll join Sarah and Ana for a fun and flavour packed few hours that will focus on the much loved but often intimidating French patisserie.

This workshop is aimed at anyone eager to learn or improve their technique when it comes to making macarons with only natural ingredients (no artificial colours or additives) that deliver the signature texture and flavour. We’ll talk you through the techniques required and how to execute them to produce macarons you’re proud of, from mixing and piping techniques to achieving the perfect ‘foot’.

Then we’ll move on to the fillings, from fruit to ganache with demonstrations on how to make classic and endlessly customisable flavours. We’ll talk flavour pairing and how to infuse and formulate fillings for the best results.

This will be a great opportunity to learn through observation and to get the chance to see first hand the steps and stages that make a difference. You’ll pipe macarons, bake and fill your own to take home. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and troubleshoot any problems you might’ve had with macaron making in the past.

The workshop will cover –

• How to make macaron shells, including full demonstration
• How to make classic and infused chocolate ganaches
• How to fill, store and present your macarons
• Riffs and variations on the original recipes to encourage you to get creative at home
• Troubleshooting, how to avoid common mistakes and what to do if they happen
